(via)

The name Hello From Britain came back to my mind once more while I was writing another post the other day. Unsurprisingly, a man as curious and nostalgic as I am will naturally try to visit the website of this radio programme. Of course, the address is never forgotten. Surprisingly, the website is still running sound and peacefully. With no traces of updates since 2004, time seems to be stationary there. The 90s design style of the website is yet another memorial of those years; years when I was still young, when everybody was still fancy of the radio, when western and especially English pop music was still something fresh to the ear and pleasant to the mind.
I hardly imagine that Brian and Maggie, the two names which used to be so familiar amongst tens of thousands of enthusiasts, can still be of great importance to me. At that time, it was their voices that furnish every Sunday morning with a joyful and truly relaxing hour.
I still remember how angry and anxious I was when the programme was forced to mute down in 2001. The bureucratic and nepotistic media group of this city, according to my experience, was and is never capable of doing things right. They took this programme off air without any prior notice, and were never be frank enough to tell the truth why HFB was ripped out.
